Card 1: Relax and Enjoy

This simple beach scene is the perfect introduction to the Splash & Relax Bundle. By combining a softly blended sky with torn cardstock to represent the sand, the colourful die-cut beach accessories become the star of the card. It’s a clean design that’s easy to recreate while still making a big impact.

The layered frame draws your eye to the focal point, while the bright flip flops, sunglasses and beach umbrella instantly capture that relaxed summer feeling.

Try changing the colour of the beach accessories or swapping the sentiment to suit birthdays, retirement cards or simply sending a little sunshine to someone special.

Beginner Tip

Don’t worry about making perfectly straight tears in your cardstock. Natural, uneven edges create a much more realistic sandy beach.

Card 2: Hello Sunshine

This project shows how a simple layered background can completely change the look of your card. Angled strips of cardstock create movement and interest, while the bright life rings, beach ball and flip flops become the focal point.

Although the layout looks detailed, it’s surprisingly simple to assemble and is a great example of how changing your background can give the same bundle a completely different personality.

Experiment with different cardstock colours or add extra die-cut elements to create your own unique variation.

Beginner Tip

Before sticking anything down, arrange all of your die cuts on the card front first. Playing with the layout helps you create a balanced design before reaching for the adhesive.

For the final project, I wanted to create something with a little more texture. Torn layers of cardstock mimic waves rolling onto the shore, giving the card depth and movement while still keeping the beach accessories as the focal point.

The combination of cool blues with bright pops of colour creates a fun summer feel that’s perfect for birthdays, celebrations or holiday-themed cards.

This design is a wonderful reminder that sometimes the background can become just as important as the stamped images themselves.

Beginner Tip

Build your torn-paper background one layer at a time. Overlapping different colours and widths adds depth and creates the look of rolling waves without any special tools.
